Australia - Northern Territory

The Northern Territory is an integral part of any Australian adventure. Some of the country’s most famous locations, such as Uluru (Ayers Rock), Alice Springs and the Kakadu National Park, lie spread around the State’s abundant natural environments.

With superb transport links, Darwin is your gateway to this region of discovery. Set around a harbour twice the size of that in Sydney, this tropical city blends cosmopolitan pleasures with lush scenery. Its close proximity to Asia brings a relaxed, multi-cultural atmosphere that makes exploring a real pleasure.

The many vast National Parks in the State allow access to diverse eco-systems that help unravel the wonders of the bush. Nowhere more so than at the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park in Aboriginal Arnhem Land, where untouched wilderness meets the temperate waters flowing in from the Indian Ocean.

The legacy of tens of thousands of years of Aboriginal culture is apparent throughout the Northern Territory. In the south, Australia’s most recognisable natural icon, Ayers Rock or ‘Uluru’, has great significance for the Aborigine people, making for an awe-inspiring location to learn about their history and way of life. Moving south west, the famous outback town of Alice Springs lies surrounded be red desert, a great base for exploring and learning bushcraft.
