Chengdu – tour extension

Precious wildlife and priceless Sichuan culture

Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province and although famed for its rich cultural history it is also a firm favourite with wildlife enthusiasts.

Day 1: Afternoon arrival at Beijing International Airport and transfer to hotel for one night at the Shangri-La Beijing. (Dinner at own arrangement)
Day 2: Morning flight from Beijing to Chengdu and lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon visit to the Giant Panda Breeding Centre; this close encounter is a wonderful introduction to China’s real national treasure. Transfer to Chengdu Sofitel Wanda Hotel. (Dinner at own arrangement)
Day 3: A visit to the 3000-year-old priceless relics at Sanxingdui before lunch at a local restaurant and onto the Thatched Cottage of the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu, a treasure trove of traditional Chinese architecture and beautiful gardens. Transfer back to Chengdu Sofitel Wanda Hotel. (Dinner at own arrangement)
Day 4: Morning visit to the Wuhou Temple followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Finish the tour with a visit to the Jinli Street market before flying back to Beijing. (Dinner at own arrangement)
