Embrace the very essence of China as you visit some of the most iconic attractions of this diverse country. Home to one of the world's oldest civilisations, this magical itinerary allows you to discover China's major cities, national treasures like the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors, and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Day 1 & 2: Fly from the UK arriving in Beijing the following day. Transfer to The Peninsula, Beijing for a three night stay.
Day 3: Experience Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, then take a guided rickshaw ride to a Chinese home in the Hutong area before visiting the 14th century Temple of Heaven. Traditional Peking Opera show in the evening.
Day 4: Visit the Great Wall and the Sacred Way before enjoying a one-hour foot reflexology massage. In the evening enjoy a special Peking duck dinner at one of Beijing's most famous restaurants.
Day 5: Complete your time in Beijing with a visit to the spectacular Summer Palace. In the afternoon fly to Xian. Stay at the Sofitel Xian Hotel for two nights. Evening at leisure.
Day 6 & 7: Visit the astonishing, life size Terracotta Warriors. After lunch, visit the Shanxi Provincial Museum followed by a traditional Tnag Dynasty Show. The next day climb the steps to the Big Goose Pagoda and climb the ancient city walls. In the afternoon, fly to Shanghai and transfer to the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel for three nights. Evening stroll along The Bund.
Day 8 & 9: Visit the Yu Yuan Garden, discover the Jade Buddha Temple then enjoy shopping in the Old Town area. Visit the city museum. The next day cruise along the Huangpu River then shopping along the Nanjing Road.
Day 10: The morning is free for you to explore, before an afternoon flight home.
