The Oberoi MV Vrinda – tour extension
Exclusive luxury boat cruise through Kerala’s backwaters
MV Vrinda is an exclusive boat with eight deluxe cabins, all with king-size beds and windows overlooking the water. On the upper deck, the restaurant offers a selection of both international and Keralan cuisine, and here you will also find the lounge and bar. Enjoy a performance of the highly ritualised ‘Kathakali’ dance that tells stories from the Ancient Hindu epics.
Day 1: Arrive Cochin Airport. Transfer to Alleppey and board the MV Vrinda. Cruise through the beautiful Alleppey Canal to majestic Vembanad Lake. Sail the same waters as the ancient spice traders as you enjoy beautiful scenery and onboard comfort.
Day 2: Head south towards Alleppey and enter Pamba River. Narrower waterways will be navigated on a traditional rice boat, or ‘kettuvallam’. Cruise the palm-fringed backwaters and observe the region’s traditional way of life.
Day 3: Head south from Vembanad Lake past Kanjippadam and visit the statue of Lord Buddha at Karumadi. See the 18th century St Mary’s Church at Chambakulam.
Day 4: Continue to your disembarkation point for your onward transfer to Cochin Airport.
