Luxury Holidays in Alwar

Scenic lakeside city in Rajasthan

Alwar sits among stunning scenery at the foot of a hill-lined valley in Rajasthan. The city features sublime waterside minarets, tranquil lakes, beautiful gardens and gorgeous palaces and parks. A few kilometers from Alwar is the Sariska National Sanctuary, a tiger reserve that’s also home to rare birds and plants.

The huge Bala Fort towers above Alwar, while the City Palace offers a gentler profile – behind which is the Sagar Lake and Vihar Garden. These lush surroundings and the cool shade make this an idyllic resting point on hot days.

Alwar contains the 14th-century tomb of Tarang Sultan and several ancient mosques. The city is famous for its wafer-thin, ‘kagzi’ pottery, and Alwar Mawa, a delicious sweetmeat prepared with milk.
