Luxury Holidays in Jodhpur
Rajasthan’s beautiful ‘Sun City’
Set against the neighbouring desert with its ancient sandy wilderness and stark outcrops, Jodhpur is an oasis of culture and conviviality. The second largest city in Rajasthan, the ‘Sun City’ boasts myriad beautiful palaces, forts and temples, all corralled by an old stone wall punctuated by ancient gates.
The lavish, art deco Umaid Bhawan Palace is an astounding architectural feat, as is the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. Famous for its Mathania red chillies, visitors are advised to seek out Jodhpur’s renowned local flavours – delectable kachar mircha curry and the delicious makhaniya lassi.
Traditional crafts eclipse other industries here, with Jodphur being noted for its furniture making, textiles and carved marble output which flood its market stalls.
