To visit the temples of Khajuraho and the Ganges at Varanasi is to truly touch the soul of India.
Day 1: Depart Agra railway station for Jhansi and a private car journey to Orcha, a stone built medieval city boasting exquisitely preserved palaces and temples. Continue to Khajuraho, the Temple Town, its 25 surviving ancient temples strewn amidst lakes and fields. Overnight at the Taj Chandela.
Day 2: After a morning visiting Khajuraho’s temples, fly to the holy city of Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world. Every devout Hindu aims to visit Varanasi once in a lifetime to purify body and soul in the River Ganges. Visit Sarnath, the birthplace of Buddhism, where Buddha first revealed his philosophy. An impressive stupa marks the spot where he first preached his message. Overnight at the Taj Ganges.
Day 3: Depart your hotel before sunrise to experience dawn on the Ganges. After your boat ride take a walk through the ancient streets and visit the fascinating Durga and Tulsi Manas Temples. In the afternoon fly from Varanasi to Delhi.
