Dubai’s first all-grass, first-class golf course
Emirates Golf Club was given the name ‘The Desert Miracle’ when its Majlis course became the first all-grass championship golf course in the Gulf region, back in 1988. A second 18-hole course opened in 1995, the par 71 Wadi, which has since been redesigned by celebrated golfer Nick Faldo and renamed The Faldo.
The ageless design of the clubhouse reflects a Bedouin tented village with seven gleaming white concrete and glass structures, complemented by the natural look of the off-course areas of the golf course, where desert flora and fauna have flourished and established themselves over the years.
The traditions of Arabia are not restricted to the design of the clubhouse.
